Appearance and growth habit
Epipremnum Manjula is a gorgeous trailing plant with broad, heart-shaped leaves featuring a mix of creamy white, silvery green and darker green patterns. Each leaf has its own unique markings, making this pothos variety a little show-off in the best possible way. Perfect for shelves, hanging planters or climbing supports, it adds a splash of colour without needing a lot of space.
Care requirements
Place your Manjula in bright, indirect light to keep its beautiful variegation looking its best. It can tolerate medium light, but growth may slow down and variegation may become less pronounced. Allow the top few centimetres of soil to dry before watering, and use a well-draining potting mix. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch those lovely leaves. Easy-going, provided you don't drown it with enthusiasm.
Troubleshooting
Yellow leaves can indicate overwatering, while brown, crispy edges may result from underwatering, low humidity or too much direct sunlight. If the leaves lose their variegation, try moving your plant to a brighter spot with indirect light. Check regularly for common pests such as spider mites, mealybugs and thrips, especially around the leaf joints.
Pet and reptile safety
Epipremnum Manjula is toxic to cats and dogs if chewed or ingested, as it contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals that can cause mouth irritation, drooling, vomiting and difficulty swallowing. Keep it out of reach of curious pets. It is not recommended for reptile enclosures, particularly where reptiles may chew or ingest the leaves. Choose a confirmed reptile-safe plant for bioactive habitats instead.
