Philodendron Billietiae is all about contrast and shape. Long, narrow, bright green leaves stretch outward with a slightly rippled edge, giving it that elegant, elongated look. What really sets it apart are the vivid orange to reddish petioles that pop against the green foliage.

It has a clean, structured growth habit when young, but as it matures, the leaves become larger, more dramatic, and more tropical in feel. Even at plug size, you’ll already see those signature coloured stems starting to come through.

Simple, bold, and very eye-catching without trying too hard.

Care

Prefers bright, indirect light. Good lighting encourages stronger growth and keeps those petiole colours vibrant. It can tolerate medium light, but growth may slow.

Water when the top layer of soil dries out. Keep the soil slightly moist but never waterlogged. A well-draining mix is key.

Adapts well to average indoor humidity but will thrive with a bit more moisture in the air.

Keep warm and avoid cold drafts or sudden temperature changes.

Troubleshooting

Yellowing leaves are often a sign of overwatering or poor drainage.

Brown tips or edges can be caused by dry air or inconsistent watering.

Leggy or stretched growth usually means it needs more light.

If growth is slow, it may just be settling in, especially at plug stage.

Pet & Reptile Safety

Not pet or reptile safe. Like other philodendrons, it contains calcium oxalate crystals and is toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and reptiles.
