Philodendron ‘Strawberry Shake’ – Look What I’ve Got!

Okay, stop everything. I have to brag about my latest plant obsession: Philodendron ‘Strawberry Shake’. I mean, just look at it — those pink-tinged, creamy variegated leaves are basically a dessert for your eyes. Every new leaf that unfurls is like a little scoop of strawberry ice cream topped with green chocolate sprinkles.
This plant doesn’t just sit there looking cute — it grows like a champ, showing off its variegation more and more as it matures. I honestly feel like it’s the kind of plant people ask about and then subtly judge themselves for not having yet.
Visual WOW factor: Pink, green, and creamy white all on one leaf? Yes please.
Easy-ish care: Bright, indirect light and moderately moist soil keeps it happy — basically, it doesn’t demand constant attention, just admiration.
Conversation starter: Every time someone sees it, it’s “Wow, what is that?!” — and I get to say, “Oh, this little thing? Just my Strawberry Shake.”
Light: Bright, indirect light. Too much sun and the pink fades, too little and it sulks.
Water: Let the top 2–3 cm of soil dry between waterings.
Humidity & Temperature: Loves moderate to high humidity and normal indoor temps.
Pet Safety: not pet-safe. Like many other philodendron species, it contains calcium oxalate crystals, which are toxic to both cats and dogs.
In short: Philodendron ‘Strawberry Shake’ isn’t just a plant — it’s a statement. And yes, I’m fully aware I’m bragging. But can you blame me? Look at this beauty.
