Appearance and growth habit
Micro Phalaenopsis Orchid is a compact miniature orchid with elegant green leaves and delicate flowers that bring a touch of jungle charm without taking over the room. Care requirements

Good airflow is important, particularly in enclosed terrariums, and a well-draining orchid mix is ideal for potted plants. For terrariums and vivariums, position it where it receives suitable light without being exposed to excessive heat.

Yellowing leaves can indicate overwatering, while limp or wrinkled leaves may mean the plant is too dry or the roots are struggling. Brown or mushy roots are a sign of excess moisture and poor drainage. If flowering stops, don't panic — Phalaenopsis orchids naturally cycle between flowering and vegetative growth. Give it the right conditions and it can reward you with another display of flowers when it's ready.

Phalaenopsis orchids are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, making them a safer choice for homes with pets. They are also widely regarded as reptile-safe, which makes this miniature orchid a popular option for tropical terrariums and vivariums. As with any live plant used around animals, avoid pesticides, fertilisers or treatments that could be harmful if ingested, and make sure the plant has been grown without unsafe chemical residues.
