Appearance and growth habit

Rodrumnia Jairak Venus Sweet Pink is a compact tropical orchid prized for its attractive foliage and delicate pink flowers. It has a neat growth habit that makes it a lovely addition to orchid collections, tropical displays and suitable high-humidity terrariums. Its flowers add a splash of colour without requiring a huge amount of space.

Care requirements

Provide bright, indirect light, warm temperatures and good humidity. Keep the growing medium lightly moist but well drained, allowing some airflow around the roots between watering. A chunky, free-draining orchid mix works well, and the plant should not be left sitting in stagnant water. Consistent conditions are the key to keeping this little orchid happy.

Troubleshooting

Yellowing leaves, soft roots or a persistently wet growing medium usually indicate overwatering or poor drainage. Wrinkled leaves can mean the plant is too dry or that the roots are not taking up water effectively. If flowering finishes, don't panic — orchids naturally have periods of growth and rest before producing another flush of flowers.

Pet and reptile safety

Orchids in the Rodrumnia group are generally regarded as non-toxic to cats and dogs, but species and hybrid-specific safety information can be limited. They are commonly used as ornamental plants in tropical environments, but for reptile enclosures, only use plants that have been grown without pesticides, systemic treatments or other chemicals that could be harmful to reptiles. If absolute safety is required for an animal enclosure, untreated, pesticide-free plants are the safest choice.
