Appearance and growth habit
Begonia ‘Etna’ is a colourful Rex Begonia prized for its bold, textured foliage and rich shades of red, burgundy, purple and green. The leaves have an eye-catching patterned appearance and form a compact, bushy plant. It is a great choice for adding dramatic colour to an indoor plant collection without needing a lot of space.
Care requirements
Give Begonia ‘Etna’ bright, indirect light and keep it warm, ideally around 18–28°C. It enjoys moderate to high humidity and should be watered when the top layer of the growing medium begins to dry. Use an airy, well-draining mix and avoid keeping the roots constantly wet. Feed lightly during active growth to encourage healthy foliage and strong colour.
Troubleshooting
Brown or crispy leaf edges can indicate low humidity, underwatering or too much direct sunlight. Yellowing leaves are often caused by overwatering or poor drainage, while leaf drop can happen after sudden changes in temperature, humidity or watering. Good airflow and consistent conditions will help keep this Begonia looking its best.
Pet and reptile safety
Begonia ‘Etna’ should be treated as not pet safe. Begonias contain calcium oxalates, which can cause irritation if eaten. It is not recommended for reptiles that may nibble on the foliage, so choose a confirmed reptile-safe plant for enclosures where animals have direct access to plants.

Reviews
I've ordered from rare plant sellers for a few years now, but I've never seen quite this level of care in wrapping and protecting the plants. The quality of the actual plants is also exceptional, they're picture perfect. I'm so, so impressed! Thank you so much! You've gained another loyal customer!
