Black Sticky Gnat Traps are a simple but highly effective way to monitor and reduce fungus gnat populations around your houseplants. Their discreet black colour blends neatly into plant pots while the strong adhesive surface attracts and traps adult gnats, helping to break the breeding cycle. Think of them as silent bodyguards for your indoor jungle.
 
Simply peel off the protective film and insert the trap into the potting mix near the base of your plant. Replace the trap when it becomes full of insects or loses its stickiness. For best results, use alongside proper watering practices, as fungus gnats thrive in consistently damp soil. Less soggy soil means fewer unwanted visitors.
 
If you're still seeing lots of gnats after installing the traps, remember they're only catching the flying adults. The larvae remain in the soil, so allow the top layer of potting mix to dry between waterings or combine the traps with an appropriate fungus gnat treatment for faster control. Using several traps in larger pots or collections will improve results.
 
Pet and reptile safety
The traps are non-toxic and contain no insecticides, making them a safer option around pets and reptile enclosures. Place the traps where pets and reptiles cannot come into contact with them, and avoid using them inside enclosures where animals may touch the adhesive.
