Appearance and growth habit

Begonia ‘Oh No’ is a striking foliage begonia with beautifully patterned leaves that bring plenty of personality to a plant collection. Its compact, bushy growth makes it well suited to indoor growing, plant cabinets and humid tropical displays. It is a great choice when you want something eye-catching without needing a botanical degree to appreciate it.

Care requirements

Provide bright, indirect light and keep the growing medium lightly and evenly moist, while allowing excess water to drain away freely. Begonia ‘Oh No’ enjoys moderate to high humidity and warm temperatures, but good airflow is essential to prevent fungal problems. Avoid prolonged wet foliage and harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

Troubleshooting

Brown, crispy leaf edges usually point to low humidity, inconsistent watering or too much direct light. Yellowing or soft leaves can indicate that the plant is staying too wet. If leaves develop spots or begin deteriorating, improve airflow and avoid getting the foliage unnecessarily wet. Begonias can be a little dramatic when unhappy, but they usually tell you exactly what they need.

Pet and reptile safety

Begonias are considered toxic to cats and dogs if ingested, with the greatest concern generally being irritation of the mouth and digestive system. For this reason, Begonia ‘Oh No’ is not recommended for homes where pets may chew plants. It is also not recommended as a reptile-safe plant for enclosures where the animal may nibble or ingest the foliage.
