Alocasia Azlanii looks like it belongs in a jewellery box. The leaves are a deep, dark green to almost black, overlaid with iridescent tones of purple, red, and bronze that shift depending on the light. Bright pink to reddish veins run through each leaf, adding even more contrast and drama.

The surface has a smooth, slightly glossy finish, which makes those colours pop even more. Even at plug size, you’ll start to see that signature shimmer, with the iridescence becoming richer and more intense as the plant matures.

It’s bold, moody, and a little bit extra in the best way.

Care

Prefers bright, indirect light. Good lighting enhances the iridescent colouring, while low light can make the leaves appear darker and less vibrant.

Water when the top layer of soil begins to dry out. Keep the soil lightly moist but never soggy. Consistency is important, especially at plug stage.

Thrives in higher humidity. This is one of the Alocasias that really appreciates extra moisture in the air.

Keep warm and stable. Avoid cold drafts and sudden environmental changes.

Troubleshooting

Yellowing leaves are usually a sign of overwatering or poor drainage.

Crispy edges can indicate low humidity or inconsistent watering.

Fading colour or loss of that shimmer usually means it needs more light.

Leaf drop during adjustment is normal, especially after repotting.

Soft stems or a mushy base is a warning sign of rot, ease up on watering and check drainage.

Pet & Reptile Safety

Not pet or reptile safe. Like other Alocasias, it contains calcium oxalate crystals and is toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and reptiles.
