Appearance and growth habit
Peperomia Deppeana is a compact, easy-going peperomia with small, rounded green leaves growing along slender stems. It develops a neat trailing to mounding habit, making it a great choice for shelves, small pots, hanging displays and terrariums. Small plant, plenty of character — exactly what you want when space is limited.
Care requirements
Give Peperomia Deppeana bright, indirect light and use a loose, well-draining potting mix. Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings, as this peperomia is far happier being a little thirsty than sitting in soggy soil. Moderate humidity is ideal, but it adapts well to normal indoor conditions.
Troubleshooting
Yellowing leaves, soft stems or leaf drop are usually signs of overwatering, while crispy leaves can mean the plant has been left dry for too long. Leggy growth generally means it needs more light. Avoid oversized pots and poor drainage, as Peperomia Deppeana has very little patience for wet feet.
Pet and reptile safety
Peperomia Deppeana is considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it a pet-friendly choice for the home. It is also generally regarded as suitable for reptile and terrarium use, making it a useful option for appropriate enclosures. As always, only use plants that have not been treated with pesticides or other chemicals that could be harmful if nibbled.
