Plant Look & Feel

Alocasia Sedenii is quiet drama embodied in foliage. Its elongated, arrow-shaped leaves rise on slender stems, finished in a soft, satin green with subtle veining that catches the light just enough to feel alive. The overall form is upright and sculptural, giving the plant a refined, architectural presence without feeling harsh or imposing. It brings a sense of calm strength — graceful, poised, and undeniably tropical.

Care Guide

Light:
Bright, indirect light is best. Too little light will slow growth, while direct sunlight can scorch the leaves.

Water:
Keep the soil lightly and evenly moist, but never soggy. Water once the top layer of soil begins to dry. Alocasias dislike sitting in wet soil.

Humidity:
Prefers high humidity. While it can survive in average household conditions, it truly thrives with added humidity from a humidifier or grouping with other plants.

Temperature:
Enjoys warmth between 18–28°C. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Soil:
Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix with good airflow — bark, perlite, and coco peat or peat moss work beautifully.

Pet & Reptile Safety

Not pet or reptile safe
Alocasia Sedenii is toxic to cats, dogs, and reptiles if ingested. It contains calcium oxalate crystals that can cause irritation. Keep out of reach of curious pets and away from reptile enclosures.

Quick Care Tips

  • Bright light without direct sun is key

  • Never let roots sit in standing water

  • Maintain consistent warmth and humidity

  • Feed monthly during spring and summer with a diluted fertiliser

Troubleshooting

Yellowing leaves:
Often a sign of overwatering or poor drainage. Check soil moisture and pot drainage.

Drooping leaves:
Can indicate underwatering, cold stress, or sudden environmental changes.

Brown edges or tips:
Usually linked to low humidity or inconsistent watering. Increase humidity and water evenly.

Leaf loss after moving:
Alocasias can be sensitive to change. Give time, warmth, and consistency — new growth usually follows
