Fiddle Leaf Fig Bambino (Ficus lyrata 'Bambino') Kokedama

The Fiddle Leaf Fig Bambino is everything you love about a classic fiddle leaf… just smaller, neater, and far more manageable. With thick, glossy, deep green leaves shaped like tiny violins, this compact version grows upright and structured. The leaves are slightly smaller and closer together than the standard fiddle leaf, giving it a fuller, more sculpted look. It feels bold without being wild.

As a kokedama, the clean lines of the Bambino paired with the natural moss ball create a striking contrast. Structured. Modern. Architectural. It’s a statement without screaming.

⚠️ Pet & Reptile Safety

Like all Ficus varieties, Ficus lyrata ‘Bambino’ is NOT pet safe.
It is toxic to dogs, cats, and reptiles if ingested due to its milky sap.

If you have curious pets or free roaming reptiles, this plant is best kept well out of reach.

Plant Care

Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. It can tolerate some gentle morning sun but avoid harsh direct afternoon sun which can scorch the leaves.

Water: Allow the moss ball to dry slightly before watering again. The Bambino prefers consistency, not soggy roots and not bone dry for weeks.

Humidity: Enjoys moderate humidity but adapts well to normal indoor conditions.

Temperature: Keep away from cold drafts and air conditioners. Prefers warm, stable environments.

Growth Habit: Upright and compact. Slower growing than a standard fiddle leaf, which makes it easier to manage indoors.

Kokedama Care

Watering: When the moss ball feels light, submerge it in room temperature water for 10–15 minutes. Gently squeeze out excess water and allow it to drip dry before rehanging or placing back.

Frequency will depend on your light and temperature, but typically once every 7–10 days.

Drainage is important. Never let the kokedama sit in water. Always allow it to drain properly after soaking.

Moss Maintenance: Over time the moss may dry or thin out. A light misting between waterings helps keep it lush. If needed, we offer moss touch ups or full rewrap services.

Feeding: Use a diluted liquid fertiliser during the growing season (spring and summer) about once a month.

Rotation: Turn your kokedama slightly every few weeks to encourage even growth and prevent leaning.
