Appearance and growth habit
Philodendron Majestic is a stunning hybrid known for its large, elongated velvety leaves and elegant silver-green veining. Combining the best traits of Philodendron Sodiroi and Philodendron Verrucosum, it produces impressive foliage with a luxurious texture and climbing growth habit. Given the right support, its leaves become increasingly large and dramatic, making it a standout addition to any indoor plant collection.
Care requirements
This Philodendron thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers a chunky, well-draining aroid mix that retains some moisture without becoming waterlogged. Water when the top layer of soil begins to dry, and provide moderate to high humidity for optimal growth. A moss pole or climbing support will encourage larger leaves and healthier development as the plant matures.
Troubleshooting
Yellowing leaves are often a sign of overwatering, while brown edges may indicate low humidity or inconsistent watering. If the plant becomes leggy or produces smaller leaves, it may need more light or better climbing support. Consistent conditions and good airflow will help keep the foliage healthy and looking its best.
Pet and reptile safety
Philodendron Majestic is toxic if chewed or ingested by cats, dogs, and reptiles due to the presence of calcium oxalate crystals. It is not considered pet friendly or reptile safe and should be kept away from curious animals. While it is an exceptional collector’s plant, it is not suitable for bioactive reptile enclosures or habitats where animals may nibble the foliage.
