Appearance and growth habit
Philodendron Snowdrift is a highly sought-after collector’s plant known for its large, glossy leaves and striking white to creamy variegation. New leaves can emerge with beautiful pale colouring before developing more green as they mature. It has an upright growth habit and can become an impressive statement plant with good care.
 
Care requirements
Give Philodendron Snowdrift bright, indirect light to encourage healthy growth and maintain good variegation. Water when the top few centimetres of the growing medium have dried, then allow excess water to drain away. Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix and keep it warm with moderate to high humidity. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, particularly on the lighter parts of the leaves.
 
Troubleshooting
Brown or crispy white sections can be caused by too much direct sun, low humidity or inconsistent watering. Yellowing or soft leaves usually point towards overwatering or poor drainage. If new growth becomes increasingly green, provide brighter indirect light, but avoid excessive sun. Like many variegated Philodendrons, Snowdrift appreciates consistency and may have the occasional diva moment.
 
Pet and reptile safety
Philodendron Snowdrift is toxic if ingested and should be kept away from cats, dogs and other pets that may chew on the foliage. It is not considered reptile-safe and is not recommended for enclosures where reptiles can access or consume the plant. Best enjoyed as a collector’s houseplant rather than reptile décor.
