Care requirements
'Inca Nights' thrives in bright, indirect light where its striking foliage colours stay vibrant. Keep the soil lightly moist, allowing the top layer to dry slightly between waterings, and avoid leaving the pot sitting in water. It prefers higher humidity and temperatures between 18–26°C, making it well suited to indoor environments with consistent warmth. Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser to support healthy new growth.
 
Troubleshooting
Brown or crispy leaf edges usually indicate low humidity or that the plant has dried out too much between waterings. Yellowing leaves are commonly caused by overwatering or poor drainage, so ensure the potting mix remains well-draining. If the foliage begins to lose its rich colour, move the plant to a brighter location with indirect light. Rex Begonias reward consistent care and don't appreciate sudden changes in their environment.
 
Pet and reptile safety
Begonia Rex 'Inca Nights' is toxic to cats and dogs if ingested, as it contains insoluble calcium oxalates that can cause irritation and digestive upset. It is not considered safe for reptiles, including crested geckos, gargoyle geckos, bearded dragons, leopard geckos, tortoises, and other species that may nibble on the leaves. This variety is best enjoyed as a decorative houseplant, safely out of reach of curious pets and enclosure inhabitants.
